First question, what IS the college and young adult ministry of First United Methodist all about?

Glad you asked.

At First United Methodist Church, we want our college and young adult ministry to be one that accepts and loves you just as you are; a child of God. Our goal is to encourage you to take steps in your faith. Whether that means you are just now accepting your faith, or have been walking in it for a while. With us, our vision is that you take that next step and continue to grow in your relationship with God. Another emphasis in this ministry is found in community. Building relationships is fulfilling a need that you have been created with; you were made with a need to experience life with other people. So, if you are looking for a place to get plugged in, where you can let down your walls of defense and let people to get to know the real you, join us.

There are a lot of places to catch up with us! Join us Wednesday nights for some food, coffee and Bible study. We also meet for worship together on Sunday mornings in the Performing Arts Center on the campus of FUMC and afterwards, we travel to various places and eat lunch together.

More than anything, this ministry is about worship centered on the glory of God, who He is and what He has done, and teaching based on the word of God. We would love to struggle through life with you.

Join us Wednesday night beginning September 16th, 2010, as we meet on our new night, THURSDAY, from 7:00 - 8:30 for coffee and commuity. Our discussion is casual and we would love for you to come and join us!

Beginning Sunday morning, September 13, join us for a brand new college Sunday school class being led by Ann Chandler of FUMC. Ann is a mom, teacher and loves teaching students how to cook. Beginning at 9:45 am each Sunday morning, Ann will show you how to cook using dorm room appliances.
