The First United Methodist Church offers two traditional services of worship every Sunday at 8:30 and 11:00 AM in the sanctuary. The services are led by Senior Pastor, Dr. R. Pat Day, and other ministers from the staff of the church. The services include scripture, prayer, singing of well-loved hymns of the faith, choral and instrumental music, solo vocal selections, a children’s time, baptisms, and a sermon by Dr. Day. Children’s Chapel is held during the 11:00 AM service following the time for children.
Communion is offered twice each Sunday; at 9:30 AM in the sanctuary and 12:00 Noon in Couch Chapel. Full services of communion are offered monthly and other times during the year with the highlight coming in the Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service. Worship at First United Methodist offers great opportunities to experience the presence of God, meet the members of our church and hear about our many areas of ministry. Our services are for all ages and families are encouraged to come and worship together. A nursery is provided for all services of worship.

Singing in the 11:00 AM is led by the Chancel Choir, a fine one hundred member adult singing group offering a wide variety of sacred music and who present many other worship and concert opportunities during the year. The Chapel Choir, a youth choir of forty singers, alternates with the Chancel Choir in the 8:30 AM service. The Children’s Choirs often sing in worship during the school year.
The First Methodist Brass play in worship every other Sunday with the First Methodist Strings heard once each month. Combinations of hand bells and other instruments often join with the 110 rank Moller Pipe Organ leading in worship.
